Floor Clearance: Where Bypass Wins Outright
In a genuinely tight bedroom, clearance is the deciding measure, and bypass doors win it without argument. The panels ride the track and never enter the room. A bed can sit within arm's reach of the closet. A dresser can live on the closet wall. Nothing about the door dictates the furniture plan.
Bifolds are honest about what they need, and it isn't much: the folding arc typically wants a few inches of clear space in front of the opening. In a medium bedroom that's nothing.
